Appropriate Behavior in the Classroom

Mr.Berkley

Be Prompt:  When the bell rings, get to your seat.  (Unless you are asking a question, sharpening a pencil, or have permission to use the restroom, etc.)

Be Prepared:  Bring your book, paper, pencil, and assignments.

Show Respect Towards Others:  Respect yourself, the teachers, other students, and school property.  Raise your hand before you talk.

Be Responsible:  Turn in all assignments.  If you are absent, you are responsible for your make-up assignments.

Be Informed:  Know the school rules in the student-handbook.

Restroom Passes:  Students may use the restroom in emergency situations only during class.  Please use the restroom before class starts.  If a student needs a restroom pass during class the student must use the restroom nearest to Mr. Berkley's classroom.  Failure to do so may result in a loss of privileges.  Absolutely no roaming the halls!

Classroom Misconduct:  For misconduct in the school environment a student will receive a verbal warning.  If the inappropriate behavior continues, parent contact will be made.  In case of gross misbehavior of the school policy, the student will be referred to the principal and the school discipline policy will be enforced.

Gum/Soda:  There is no gum or soda in Mr. Berkley's classroom.

Grading System

Mr. Berkley

I will use the District grading scale in your handbook.

Assignments, quizzes, and tests, etc. will be assessed by different point possibilities depending on the work required for each assignment.  Mr. Berkley will put the points you earned out of the total points on your paper.  Students can check their grades by using a calculator.  Relate that grade to the school grading scale.

Make-up work is the Student's Responsibility:  If you are absent it is your responsibility to ask Mr. Berkley for the make-up work.  You have one day for each day absent to turn in Make-up work.  If you are absent the day before a test and miss the review or the day of the test, you will take the test the day that you return to class.

Homework:  All assignments are to be turned in on time or the student will receive a zero/no grade.

Cheating:  You and the person who allowed you to copy from them will receive a zero on the given assignment, quiz, or test.  If a student has more than one incident, I will call the parents and set up a conference with the principal.  Cheating will not be tolerated!

Prep Time:  7th Hour 2:15-3:00, call 627-2136
